Still Confident Jones: Buehler Has "A Lot of Rope" At Kicker

IRVING, Texas - Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones badly wanted those three points before David Buehler missed a 34-yard field goal attempt in last Sunday's 13-7 loss to the Washington Redskins.
But he doesn't want a new kicker.
Jones said Monday that Buehler's job security has "a lot of nfl jersey
rope" as he enters the second regular-season place-kicking duties of his career Sunday against the Chicago Bears. The NFL's touchback leader last year as a rookie kickoff specialist, Buehler earned the full-time kicking job by making 10 of 11 preseason attempts, including 4-of-4 and the winning 31-yarder in the exhibition finale against the Miami Dolphins. "The promise of what he can do for us," Jones said, "and the fact that Cowboys jersey
we've got (kicking consultant) Chris (Bonior) and (special teams coordinator) Joe (Decimally) and they're so much on the same page with him and like the way his fundamentals, strikes the ball, his makeup, everything about him, he's a ball player. When I think of all that, I'd say there's a lot of rope."
Buehler's lone attempt against Washington went wide right, his first in-game miss since the Aug. 8 preseason opener in Canton, Ohio.
This week, the second-year veteran is relying on Bonior’s "one-for-one" philosophy: forget about the previous kick, good or bad.
"Coming up, everybody says kickers have to have a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
short memory, and that's true," Buehler said. "You can't dwell on your misses and you've just got to learn from them and go on."
